Yesterday I saw a pewter figure in a window of a collectibles store. It
was so cute. It was made by Chilmark. Does anyone know anything about
these pieces? I have never seen them before. How can I find out the
fair market value of them? Are they authorized by Disney? Does anyone
have any information on Chilmark Pewter?

As a Chilmark collector I am sad to say that the parent company Hudson Creek Pewter Studios closed there doors in January of 2000. During the 25 years in business there were many Chilmark Disney pieces that had been released. I personally have 10 of them. They where licensed by Disney and can be very expensive. Most of the limited edition pieces where manufactured in quantities of 450 to 950 pieces depending on the piece (This is for the pewter pieces, the bronze pieces were usually limited to 50). There where also a number of three piece sets that were released which
sold for anywhere from $350 to $1,500 per piece. In addition, there were
a lot of individual pieces in different limits and prices. The one
problem with the Disney sets was that they sold out (from Chilmark)
before they hit the stores and where very highly prized by collectors. The piece you are considering could be a piece that was misplaced in the back and finally found its way to the sales floor. It could also be that a collector has placed the piece in the store on consignment. If that is the case, the price would probably be much higher than the issue price. For example, the first three piece set that was issued depicted Mickey and Minnie in various cars. The set was limited to 250 pieces. The first piece sold for $350 dollars. Today it is worth over $1,500!
I agree that the pieces are nice. I bought the first one because I
thought it was cute. Now after nine more, I realize the value in them.
There are many people out there who buy them as an investment and sell
them later for a nice profit. I don't personally, but there are a lot of
them out there that do. Because of this, if you see a piece you like, buy
it!

I have many Chimark statues (http://www.allsculptures.com) for sale and can send you pictures and pricing and all have authentication paperwork. My father collected them and since his death my mother is wanting to downsize her home and asked me to sell for her.

Sorry I don't have that piece. Most of mine are military and a few Disney.
