I have always been curious about this statue I inherited. It's about 30 inches tall including the two-colored marble base and the wingspan is about 19inches.
I have discovered no markings on it and I even looked up her skirt! It composed of some non-magnetic metal and has a silvery appearance.
I don't know what the metal is or if it may be painted to look like silver. It is very heavy. It also has a small reddish"gemstone" on it's left arm and there's a ring on it's back. Almost everyone that comes in the house comments on it and a few have even made me offers, the best being $200 which I have refused. I remember when it came into my family. About 40 years ago, my mother was having some work done by a local photographer. She saw this statue in his studio and told my father about it. He bought it and gave it to her for a Christmas gift that year, but he would never disclose what he had to pay the photographer for it. I'd like to know if this was done by a well-known sculptor, where I might find a marking if there is one, and it's possible value.
